    The Hill Tribe of Malai Arayans who inhabit mainly in Kottayam & Idukki in Kerala have a similar Breast tax story (One breast of the tribal woman was cut). Poonjar Rajah then abolished the tax. Both LAK Ayer (1937) and Elgar Thurston (1962) have written about this.

    Not contrary as such. Was there a specific point of contradiction? True Indology does google books research so missed the Malayalam book. Also there is a similar breast cutting story in a tribal community recorded early 1900s. So the story is very old.
