as with the ST Microelectronics announcement, anyone can donate a moderate sum to the Linux Foundation (or LF Edge, LF Energy, etc.) and become a member. membership is not an endorsement or a partnership.

all that means is their non-profit status qualifies them for an Associate Membership. still not an endorsement or partnership.

I was reacting on the argument that they paid for a membership. This is quite some "partnership": "We're working directly with Linux, sub groups of Linux like LF Edge and Hyperledger, and some key members that requested us to join to get more information on this for you soon"
