On January 6, he led a violent mob away from our elected leaders. Officer Goodman's act of valor was just one of many our officers displayed.

CRITICAL INCIDENT: USCP is responding to the North Barricade vehicle access point along Independence Avenue for reports someone rammed a vehicle into two USCP officers. A suspect is in custody. Both officers are injured. All three have been transported to the hospital.

As we mourn the loss of Officer Billy Evans, we are grateful for the honor bestowed upon him by Congress.
Today’s memorial service at the Capitol Rotunda will be on at 10:30 AM EST.
It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news one of our beloved German Shepherds passed away.
K-9 Uri, who was 4 years old, died this week from complications from an infection.
At approximately 12:40 pm, USCP officers arrested a man, who had a knife, for a weapons violation.
Our officers are searching in and around the Senate Office Buildings in response to a concerning 911 call. Please stay away from the area as we are still investigating. We will continue to communicate with the public here.

Approximately 400 to 450 people were inside the protest area today (excluding law enforcement).
The Capitol was evacuated out of an abundance of caution this evening.
There is no threat at the Capitol.

The USCP also stopped a vehicle along Louisiana Ave. this morning and subsequently arrested two people for felony extraditable warrants out of Texas. One was for Possession of a Firearm. The other was for a probation violation.
So far, the USCP is reporting a total of 4 arrests.
At 1:30 pm, someone spotted what appeared to be a handgun on a man in the crowd. The witness told USCP officers, who detained the suspect. At this time, it is not clear why the man was at the demonstration. Officers charged him with 40 U.S. Code § 5104 - Unlawful activities.

The procession for Officer Billy Evans passed the U.S. Capitol this afternoon.
Officer Evans spent 18 years protecting this building and everyone inside it.

This morning one of our officers spotted a baby squirrel who had fallen from a nest near HQ.
Our team gave the squirrel (they named Nutmeg) some water & gave the little one a place to rest before Animal Services took Nutmeg to a wildlife refuge for rehab.

The USCP has cleared the external security threat incident located at all of the U.S. Capitol Campus buildings, however the area around the crime scene will continue to be restricted and individuals should follow police direction.
Demonstrators are starting to block First Street, NE.
It is against the law to block traffic, so officers are going to give our standard three warnings before they start making arrests.
