Women who are upset about Kavanaugh and had their sons circumcised: you taught your sons that consent doesn't matter when you had their penises cut up when they were born. What did you expect?
When does 2 wrongs make it right? In any case, circumcision is done in benefit of the future of that person. Which has been proven to actually help! When rape is done in a selfish act, for personal gain and risk of the other persons health.

Cutting up my penis when I was born, which resulted in me having so much skin taken that I had to do years worth of stretching the remaining skin in order to actually have normal, comfortable erections, was not a "benefit" to me. It was harmful, not helpful.
-
Sorry ya got issues from it. But it's possible that you could've had problems with having extra skin. That still wouldnt give you a right to go sexually assault another being.
-
The foreskin isn't "extra". It's supposed to be there. And ANY body part has the potential to have problems someday. But that doesn't mean that anyone should have the right to cut irreplaceable body parts off of someone else without their consent.
-
Take all of the idea behind what you just said, and apply it to a person's p.o.v. of not wanting to have sex with someone but is forced to...
-
Exactly. Both things are wrong. It's important to obtain consent before messing with someone else's genitals. For some reason, many people understand that concept when it comes to having sex with someone but not when it comes to cutting part of someone else's genitals off.

Circumcision is a risky procedure that - in the absence of an actual medical emergency - should require the consent of the person whose body is being permanently and unnecessarily modified

I agree

"When rape is done in a selfish act, for personal gain and risk of the other persons health." Similarly, circumcision is done in a selfish act, for personal financial gain of the doctor doing the cutting and risk of the health of the person who is being cut without his consent.
-
Whether it is or isn't in the doctors favor, it's been proven that it helps... Rape in no case has been proven to help. Again, I see what you're saying about circumcision is wrong. But they're two separate arguements. Circumcision is not an excuse for rape.
-
Explain how it "helped" me, then, since that's supposedly been "proven". I've already explained one of the ways that it harmed me.
-
Okay. That's dealing with a doctors mistake.
-
It wasn't considered a mistake by either the doctor or my parents. Apparently, it looked fine to them and wasn't officially considered "botched" or anything. Just a normal outcome.
-
Of course it wasn't it's one of the extra risks of infant circumcsion that don't exist if you let an adult decide. Namely the penis isn't fully grown, and they have no idea how much it will grow. As an adult that baby could be below average and 4" or above average and 8".

It doesn't help! UTI's can be fixed with a pill and we don't cut up girls at 100x the rate. HIV study had issues, as well as promote a dangerous message of unsafe sex. Complications happen more than the problems they supposedly fix. And if all goes well, you've mutilated a boy.
