Congratulations Ahmed! I love that this leap forward was made possible by combining the advantages of synthetic fluorophores with the advantages of genetically encoded biosensors. The best of both worlds!

So we, uh, flipped Voltron and it became a pretty nice, fast, positive-going voltage sensor that we call Positron. While we were at it, we flipped all eFRET GEVIs to have positive signals to action potentials. Check it out here:

I transferred bacteria expressing our favourite fluorescent proteins from an agar plate to a nitrocellulose membrane - very easy, quick and amazingly efficient. Thanks a lot for the tip (now we have to improve our drawing skills)

Congrats ! for the infrared calcium sensor () engineered from our mIFP (). We failed, but really happy to see this. After this and iCasper ( …), now maybe a mIFP-based voltage sensor, ?

I think you are correct about this only being possible in one place. Am really interested in perspectives about why this hasn't been achieved/replicated elsewhere. Pls RT
