We examined political spending by two mysterious nonprofits: "Fellow Americans" & "Big Tent Project Fund." Due to loopholes, around 96% of these groups’ reported spending is unaccounted for.

As the 2020 campaign progresses, these loopholes will almost certainly be exploited by other political operatives—foreign or domestic—to attack or promote candidates while the public is left in the dark. Our democracy would be better off if we addressed this.

There are solutions to these problems, and Congress, the @FEC & tech platforms should take action. Voters have a right to know who is trying to influence our elections. Fixing these loopholes would increase transparency & preserve integrity in our democracy. #StopSecretSpending
