Last week, a judge in FL ruled in our case that you can't deny the right to vote based on wealth. The problem? Only the 17 plaintiffs, including our clients, were given their rights back. Today we filed to ask for relief for ALL affected Floridians.

Why wasn’t the case initially filed on behalf of all similarly situated? Just curious.

Good Q! Our case has sought to help all Floridians in this situation, from the beginning. Sometimes, some portions of a case move faster through the legal system. We asked the court to stop the law in its tracks around the same time we asked it to grant our class action request.

But the court ruled on our individual clients' rights before the court took the step of ruling on the class action issue. This extra step is needed to get relief for as many people as possible before the registration deadline.
