"Friends of Andrew Yang" is the legal name of Yang's presidential campaign. So our concerns still stand!

Why wouldn't Andrew Yang's campaign be named anything else? You can be a friend of Yang without voting for him. I may not vote for him and I wouldn't call myself an enemy of him. As long as Yang doesn't limit the contest to only Democrats, it can't be a problem, in my view.

How is the campaign’s election to show his flagship policy proposal in action a personal use by Yang? Are you suggesting that recipients of campaign

I agree; It sounds like they are referring to the recipients' use of the funds, not the campaigns.
#Yang2020 wouldn't incur the costs outside the campaign, therefore he isn't using them to pay for his personal bills; the campaign contest is to raise awareness for his policies. - Show replies

"If campaign funds are used for a financial obligation that is caused by campaign activity or the activities of an officeholder, that use is not personal use." 816 F.3d 829, 835. This appears to clearly authorize this sweepstakes. The sweepstakes IS campaign activity.

I agree, he would have to use the funds to pay for expenses not related to the campaign with the donations.
