  5. Michiganders turned out in record numbers to pick new leaders. The Michigan election board has affirmed its commitment to respect the law and the voters of Michigan. It's past time for leaders in every state to acknowledge Biden as president-elect so our country can move forward.

    The right to vote is not theater. By law in every state, the voters in those states determine their slate of electors, not state legislatures. This pressure campaign to deny certification must be dismissed as antidemocratic and unacceptable. My statement:

  17. The basis of our democracy is that “we the people” choose our leaders, and voters have made their choice clear. To do anything other than proceed to certify election results is a futile and fringe effort to appease the President, who has lost, and overturn the will of the voters.

  19. The Federal Election Commission (), the nation’s only watchdog for presidential & Congressional campaigns, has been w/o enough commissioners to do its job. But restoring a quorum alone is unlikely to make the agency work; significant reform is needed.
