BBC: you like Discworld? Discworld fans: Yeah BBC: How cool would a Discworld series be? Fans: That would actually be pretty cool BBC: Well what if we barely used the wide array of source material available but said we did? Fans: That seems redundant... BBC: Doing it anyway

We could be completely wrong and the marketing is just... bad (it happens) but... it does look a bit bland for a Terry Pratchett adaptation

By the way, holding some blame on Pratchett’s daughter for any apparent betrayal of his legacy is a monumentally disrespectful take

If you are mad at the daughter of the recently deceased author of the franchise you say you are a fan of, to the point that you call her a ‘sell out’ without any evidence for such a claim - you might want to reevaluate yourself.pic.twitter.com/sZU7U5ZddH

This is about par for the BBC these days. Get a popular title that everyone loves and adapt it til it's barely recognizable.

BBC America, to be fair. They have form, this is exactly what they did to Dirk Gently as well. They got away with that because Dirk Gently is relatively obscure and the source material and background material is fairly thin. Not so much with Discworld.

they made a poor fist of Gently too though.

Isn't one of his children meant to be looking after the franchise and stopping this sort of shit from happening?

Exactly what I thought when I saw the stills for the show. His daughter Rihanna is supposed to be protecting the legacy. Not sure she succeeded here
