    Idea: give all employees the legal right not to be subjected to contentious political 'education'/training at work. All workers should have the right to opt-out from being forced to have contentious political positions preached at them - and indeed made near compulsory

    Where's exuberant policing when you want it?

    Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the oil spill that was so large, it'll take 10 more years to clear up. While social distancing, three XR Youth activists used their daily exercise time to highlight this tragedy at 's BP Institute. We will remember.

    Such exuberant policing. The officer should be prosecuted for misconduct in public office.

    We don't know why they stopped this man, but this is out of order conduct in any case. An apology is not enough - the copper is threatening to set him up.

    Something has gone badly wrong with ' ability to communicate sensibly about the lockdown. Trust in the police is being eroded by their own daft tweets. The Chief Constable needs to get a grip of this urgently, and if he won’t, the Police & Crime panel must demand action

    We are potentially sleep-walking into a police state. While we should all be following the government's advice, we must also robustly stand against this sinister expansion of police powers.

    Northamptonshire Police is among the worst performers in the country for bringing charges after cases of burglary. But its chief constable will damn well rummage through your shopping basket and find that incriminating can of air freshener if he wishes.

    And now some "clarification". I bet that officer's not feeling so exuberant now. you still need to delete the original tweet and stop the bleeding of public goodwill.

    1/2 For clarification, the force position, in line with national guidance, is that we are not monitoring what people are buying from supermarkets. This message was sent with good intentions by an over exuberant officer who has been spoken to since this tweet was published.

    7 weeks ago XR illegally blocked a road in Cambridge for a week and dug up Trinity college’s historic lawn, and did absolutely nothing to stop them. But now they’re patrolling supermarkets to make sure people aren’t buying chocolate. You couldn’t make it up.

    Cambridge police do not have the authority to judge what is an essential purchase. Nor are non-essential purchases illegal. This is an outrageous power grab by the police, and we must stand against it.

    I note that have their own meeting planned for Wednesday 19th Feb, 7.30pm, at the Unitarian Church on Emmanuel Rd, CB1 1JW. They disrupt everyone else's business. I see no earthly reason why others shouldn't (peacefully but loudly) do the same to them
