I recently had the pleasure of helping Wendy Wood and John Bargh put together a collection of papers all about habit and RL (). Over the next week or so, I’ll be discussing the virtues of each paper in a series of explainer threads, starting w/ this one 👇

Do policymakers prioritize higher-validity research over lower-quality evidence? Nope, according to this review article by Contandriopoulos & co. "Internal validity per se does not influence information use."

Do instructors respond to student evaluations? On average? No. Those who have a more + view of their teaching than their students do respond. But "all of these [improvements] are driven by the female teachers; male teachers appear to be unresponsive to student feedback."

1/n In our latest at JESP (), Bud Lambert, John Bargh and I made people implicitly like Adolf Hitler as much as some friendly-looking strangers. Moments later, we made them return to implicitly hating Hitler. How? 👇

A friend said something crazy to me the other day: "You have 18 summers to enjoy with your kids. That's it." By the time your kids turn 18, you have spent 70%+ of the total time you will spend with them. After that, it's a wild card (they are busy, you are old).
