As an MP I was focused on working hard to drive better outcomes. In sharp contrast @John2Win and his colleagues are all about trying to manage perception. Their UK Gov has failed Scotland on broadband, but make enough noise & people might think they care & are fixing it #shamefulhttps://twitter.com/John2Win/status/942764777931231235 …

% increase of premises covered by superfast broadband services in the UK in the last 2 years to May 2017 according to Ofcom: England: 8% Northern Ireland: 8% Wales: 10% Scotland: 14% People may feel let down but that is the result of tory propaganda rather than analysis.

If we look at the period when the SNP took over delivery of SFBB, the gap between coverage in England and Scotland was 16% (2014). According to thinkbroadband that gap in Dec 2017 is just 2.3%. If that is failure what could success possibly look like? Over 100% coverage perhaps?

It's also very important to remember that the UK design intent from the start was to try get to 95%. They chose not to go for full coverage or better full fibre models. Where do these rural Tory MPs think the 5% is? They designed the problem, the Scottish Government is fixing it!

A monumental project- rolling out SFBB in this sparse country with 99 inhabited islands, mountains, valleys & from a very low base in 2013. What annoys me most is the message the tories are sending to hardworking men and women grafting away in all weather to deliver this.
