Calum - this is such a non story. The cheque gets put in a box in the branch and processed later that same day. No difference to paying it in over the counter. I often use the box to avoid the queue. Soon we will be able to pay CQ in by mobile phone ! Fuss about nothing.

Well maybe if she had had that explained to her she might have accepted that instead of walking over the road where she could pay it in to a savings account straight away. I left RBS due to repeated poor customer service, although that was disjointed contact centres, not branches

I wasn’t there so can’t speak for what was said. But the box (or rapid deposit area) is right on front of you as you walk in. No one would really think a cq has to put in he Royal Mail ! I fear you are making mischief.
