I presented some animation work a few days ago and I go asked something along the lines of "Can't I just all that stuff for free on Mixamo?" Harsh, but it has made me really look at my work and see what I can offer compared to something like Mixamo. Gotta amp things up some more.

Because mixamo's stuff at least has a limit to what it offers, people would know that you just chose Free mixamo stuff bc it's p well known how it looks now, and you can add a lot more personality to it.
I wish I said all that at the time, I just said there is a limit but I forgot to say how noticeable it is that you've used mixamo. The thing I took away from it is pretty much my work needs more personality that stands out against a default mocap animation everyone uses.

Good idea! yeah, this is smth I remember David Gibson was talkin' bout once. About how you can do a lot of run cycles etc. but what could really sell your stuff is its character. If you can implement character into your existing work it reaallyy amplifies it.
