I really hope this Maya license change isn't true. So many people are gonna lose access for learning :( I'll probably wont be able to make any personal work again once my educational license is gone.

So there is Maya Indie which as far as I know is a full Maya license for a year and gives you a commercial version. It's about 270 pounds, that's probably the best alt to switching software. I think it renews to a full commercial license a year later so be careful if you get it
