Is every neighbour in the world unnecessarily noisy, or do I just have terrible luck in choosing apartments?
I just want people to be quiet after 11PM, guys 
Most apartments are rubbish sound wise, but it's always a lottery when it comes to neighbours. Ear plugs can help a lot, helped me a lot with my old noisy neighbours.

Only worry with earplugs is missing my alarm :(

I used to worry about that, I ended up getting some plugs that let me hear my alarm and also blocked my neighbours. It's worth trying on a weekend just in case, but these ear plugs served me well with my loud neighbours and alarm clock.
