*mild rant* 8 years ago at school I was told I would be throwing my life away going down the path I have. Sumo was my aim since the start of high school, friends told me I would never work there and going to college instead of sixth form would ruin my life. Proved them wrong.
So don't let people try and push you away from your dreams or push their negativity on you. I even had teachers tell me I was being silly/stupid with my career options. Do what you will believe will make you happy and go for it, better to try then to give up at the start.
