Google is asking employees to test potential ChatGPT competitors, including a chatbot called ‘Apprentice Bard.’ It uses Google’s conversation technology LaMDA, or Language Model for Dialogue Applications. They better spruce up that name! Jeez.
The colloquy on ChatGPT & SEO I've been waiting for from , , vs. death and destruction from many threads. Def. agree indexing is a blind spot. G is capable of a multi-pronged solution. How they respond we'll have to see.

Terrible decision. There’s no default preference nor an option to swipe to trending and followed topics. Things continue to go in the wrong direction..

No denying the landscape will shift but it’s 3-4 years out IMHO. Many hurdles: legal, user experience, costs, potential for scandal. Personalization is another area that could be a double edged sword. 'Google has everything it needs to counter ChatGPT.'
