    Very important thread

    1/10 Today's in respect of Scotland's minority ethnic communities contains some positive initiatives however our early assessment is that it is timid + should have done much more. Thread covers where and some concerns of process.

    A critical aspect of this work will be ensuring a human rights based approach. Listening directly too Scotland's communities affected by our legacy of colonialism, imperialism, slavery and historic injustice.

    This list makes horrific reading- anyone wanting to engage in whataboutery, should consider that some of the poorest, most vulnerable & neediest in Glasgow will be left with no lifeline, advice or support all in the middle of a pandemic

    Delighted to see this and looking forward to a reply to our direct request for answers as to why the high rate of Covid deaths in the Irish community is being ignored by the NRS and the

    We can and must do better to tackle injustices and ensure a better Scotland for everyone. We will build on the work of the Expert Reference Group to ensure that we have an accurate understanding of the impact of on minority ethnic and migrant communities in Scotland.

    Very welcome progress. Look forward to details and how this will respond to Scotland's specific participation in slavery, colonialism + empire. Our Caribbean, African, Pakistani, Indian, Irish and many other communities will be keen to have their voices heard and listened too.

    Those of any religious belief or those who support the right of citizens to practice their religion need to wake up to the danger of this Bill.

    This news is heartbreaking. We send our condolences to the family and friends of Mercy Baguma. The asylum system needs ripped up. Humanity and empathy must be at the heart of it not suspicion and punishment. The pandemic has illuminated just how heartless and dangerous it is.

    "The question remains, why are mothers and babies being left to go hungry in this city, why is it being left to charities and volunteers to pick up the pieces?"

    Can’t begin to imagine the enormity of the pain endured by Mercy Baguma who died next to her starving baby in Glasgow, in 2020. The immigration system isn’t broken. The system was never built to protect Mercy in the first place. It need to be dismantled. Rest in power sister. ❤️

    in 1560 the Scottish Reformation began. Catholicism was banned and Catholics persecuted and dispossesed. It created bitterness and strife with us to this day.

    The Scottish Government must instruct the Expert Reference Group to take this matter seriously and investigate the higher death rate within the Irish community in Scotland

    1/2 We are members of the ERG on COVID / Ethnicity. The Irish ethnic mortality rate is of concern. The pandemic has illuminated structural and data incoherence's that directly impact our understandings of health and other inequalities.

    It's been over a month now since Dad's funeral & the whole day is like a haze in my memory. There were flowers there but I don't remember them. It's only in the last few days I managed to get a couple of pics of the flowers sent by my good friends at . Thank you 🍀💚
