Some of my very earliest memories happened here. I remember walking around, getting a bloody nose on a roller-coaster, eating atop the Sunsphere, and seeing Leon Redbone perform. (I think!)
1) Something (very stupid) you’re going to see over the next weeks are people arguing that screenwriters are being unreasonable. “Times have changed”. No. Times WERE changed. By SOMEBODY. By PEOPLE, making CHOICES.
What's going on with Hollywood and the WGA is what's going on in nearly every facet of capitalism-- as companies conglomerate into oligopolies, they no longer have to compete. The goods they offer stop being the best they can offer and start being the worst we will put up with.

Amen. One of my old saws about the Indy movies is how all the characters are echoes or reflections of him. Sallah's a digger. Marcus is him when he's older. Marion's a rogue. Elsa's another scholar.
But Willie's not any of those things. That's what makes her so cool in TOD.

Another short video showcasing the amazing screen startup on the set of the #EnterpriseD for #StarTrekPicard. Seeing this all in person definitely contributed to the way I edited the scene in “Võx” when the crew boards her. I wanted to capture that feeling of returning home.
As y'all liked my rushed one, here is a more polished edit of 'that' amazing action sequence from the #StarTrekPicard series finale, re-scored with "Sabotage" 🖖#PicardSpoilers
Note — I love most of Trek. I love Enterprise, Voyager. Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds are fanTAStic. But TNG and DS9 were so formative for me, TNG especially.
We watched it at his place on broadcast TV on the local affiliate that carried TNG. Remember broadcast TV, where they sent the shows out on waves in the air? That's how we watched it.
I was up at 5am today watching it. The last time Trek felt like appointment TV was in the 90s. I was working a kooky summer job in east Tennessee when "All Good Things" dropped, and my co-worker, an old buddy, was also a huge Trek geek.
This season of #Picard was so special. It really felt like TNG season eight. Goofy comparison coming, but it reminded me of the Deadwood movie in how ably they reconnected to the original show's rhythms.

Whether he shows up or not, I feel like we're in for some kind of awesome cameo tomorrow. Who do you think shows up?
(note — this is all gravy. the season's ALREADY a triumph)
No matter whether it's Commander Shelby (#TNG's "The Best of Both Worlds I+II"↖️⬅️), Captain Shelby (#StarTrekLowerDecks' "An Embarrassment of Dooplers"↙️↘️) or Admiral Shelby (#StarTrekPicard's "Võx"➡️↗️), there's one constant: her fierce red lipstick! Welcome back Elizabeth!😊

🚨 PICARD CAST PORTRAITS
And a rare full cast photo! Plus a better look at that magnificent recreation of the Enterprise 1701-D bridge set (complete with carpets 😉)!

Welcome aboard the Galaxy Class U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-D. If this is your first time here, we have 42 decks, but literally everything is on Deck 8.
Except the bar, that’s on Deck 10, and one of three sickbays is on Deck 12. #Priorities#StarTrekPicard#PicardSeasonThree
Gotta hand it to 'em for shooting the whole season in that (admittedly handsome) slate-gray/sapphire blue light only to throw the almighty haymaker of the Enterprise-D with its superior bridge layout and comfy ATL Marriott Marquis lobby lighting. ❤️
Bear witness to the wholly awesome, unbridled and unchallenged power of beige on full display. Do not try to resist. Millions of living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, guest baths and judgy foyers will suffer if you do.
