  2. Ever since the liberals (loserals) took control, all these homeless people (who are bad because they're poor) just take these free $20,000 dollar handouts that citizens (hardworking Americans like me (I'm on welfare but I'm not poor so it's ok)) are forced to leave in trash cans

  3. 17. It's fine to ask people why they didn't like your piece, and it's also fine for them to not give that feedback for whatever reason.

  4. 16. People who just read and don't write, give critique, or create content are still perfectly valid members of the community and are also able to have opinions on the wiki or articles in it (yes I'm saying it's fine for nokarmas and newbies to downvote things)

  5. 15. There's a distinction between "professional" and "personal" relationships on the wiki. Maybe someone gives overly harsh or poor crit, maybe they have different takes on staff functions, maybe they don't take crit like they should. You can still be friends with them.

  6. 14. GoI formats would be a lot better if they encouraged the same amount of diversity in formatting and storytelling that the SCP format has, but most of them are significantly more strict.

  7. 13. The object classes guide is bad and only gives new authors the impression that object classes are much more important than they actually are. It shouldn't be deleted though because Decommissioned is likely to become official in the near future and I want to see it up there.

  8. 12. These two comments; not my words, but I can't agree with this enough:

  9. 11. It's perfectly valid to vote based on whether or not you liked an article, rather than how objectively good it was. Some authors are opposed to people downvoting works that are "good" because they believe that voting should be based entirely on writing quality alone.

  10. 10. Newer SCPs are objectively better than older ones, from a storytelling and narrative standpoint. However, there is literally nothing wrong with enjoying older SCPs more than newer ones. It's a matter of what people enjoy reading.

  11. 9. While it's generally in poor taste to make voting decisions based on things like ACS or particular themes, it's your job to make your article look presentable, and if it looks ugly enough to impact the reading experience then there is nothing wrong with downvoting for it.

  12. 8. SCP-096 is not a bad SCP, and people who say it is probably haven't actually read it and are just lumping it in with the rest of the over-hyped Series 1 SCPs.

  13. 7. Claiming an SCP would be better if written as a tale is actually not always wrong or even necessarily bad critique. However, "This SCP should be a tale" is bad critique by itself, and saying it should be a tale simply because it's long and plot-heavy is completely wrong.

  14. 6. There's absolutely nothing inherently wrong with writing longer pieces, but it's also not right to expect people to read them or to give people crap for not reading them or for trying to read them and then getting burnt out, no matter how good it is.

  15. 5. The SCP Wiki's serious clique problem is widely recognized and acknowledged, but most people individually think they're either the exception or not part of the problem at all.

  17. 3. The 5000 contest was relatively mediocre. Also, not sure if this is a hot take, but Sacrosanct or Lamplight should have won. Why? is good, but personally I think it's overrated.

  18. 2. This is likely the result of bias (since this is the first X000 contest I've participated in), but I feel like the 6000 contest will prove to be more significant than the 3000 contest in the long run.

  19. 1. People upvoting popular authors' works because it was written by people they liked is not nearly as big of an issue as people think it is.
