I used to engage liberals because I thought logic & rational thought would ultimately prevail if you could just get someone to see it. I was wrong.

Same, then I realized that you can't logic someone out of a position they've emoted themselves into.

The hope is to present libs with facts and hopefully change their mind. Since that's not likely to happen, the real goal is to present your argument so that objective 3rd party/bystanders listening in can be swayed by your logic compared to lib irrationality.

I guess it’s because most libs are at the very least perplexed by the facts. Nearly every lib I’ve ever met wishes extra hard and presto it’s a fact.
