I had a guy argue that this writer doesn't want to take my guns either because he has a sentence in there about how it won't happen. Such a joke.

We already knew what their end game was. Not surprised a bit.pic.twitter.com/Nd3SvxsIgq

Do you have a proposed compromise or are you going to do the same thing as the far left and just retreat to the far right? I want to find a middle ground or were all just gonna keep yelling past each other while kids keep dying, which no one, dem or republican, wants.
-
Excellent response. If you examine the last few shootings, you will find failures of law enforcement played a large role. I am of the opinion that more laws on top of the hundreds we have will not address the problem. One solution is the use of GVRO's. Another is metal detectors.
-
Only 1 more law - required training if you want a firearm. We could probably eliminate many useless gun laws by requiring training. Education is key. I agree to security. There is no reason not to have single points of entry at a school, that doesn’t infringe on anyone’s rights
-
100% agree with training and single points of entry
-
I also look at the Swiss - gun ownership is a household requirement, but so is thorough militia training. Responsible gun owners can spot those who are irresponsible and either help them or make sure they don’t not have access to a weapon
-
We seem to be fairly like minded on this issue.
-
I think you’ll find most Democrats and people are the left are willing to compromise here. Obviously not the far sides of either party, but we don’t need them. Gun reform can keep us all safe and ensure that we never have to pay for a Royal wedding like our former overlords.

Them: "Big government is the worst." Also them: "Buy guns for tens of thousands more government employees so that teachers have the power of discretion to shoot kids at school!"
-
Then: ”We are the best country in the world led by real patriots who will MAGA!” Also them: “I need my guns to overthrow the government of the best country in the world!

For 8 years all of you screamed that Obama was going to take all of your guns. He didn’t take a single fucking one. It just made you idiots give more money to the NRA and gun manufacturers.pic.twitter.com/7aWqV6rDlO

Congrats, u found the far left side of the spectrum of the argument. Do you have a proposed compromise, or are you gonna offer some “thoughts and prayers” and call it a day? We need a compromise; do nothing and you accept that children will continue 2 b sacrificed to uphold
#2A -
You’re right. As a gun owner I agree. We need compromise. To compromise each side must be willing to give a bit. What are you willing to give? I’ll give expanded BG checks, mental health evals and raising age limits on EVERYTHING. Your turn.
-
Responsible gun owners are the key - protect your 2A rights by making sure irresponsible people don’t give you a bad name. The Swiss require a gun in every home, but they also require militia training for everyone. Very few shootings there
-
See? We agree on some stuff here. I am a strong advocate for and participate in advanced weapons & tactical training. I believe every gun owner should have more than just a basic gun course.
-
Agreed. I believe an armed populace keeps the govt in check, but there has to be a balance between that benefit and the cost of lives. Things seem out of balance, we need to elect lawmakers, not professional fundraisers, to make the necessary compromises the most Americans desire

Have a fuckin’ seat because you’d be surprise that the quote from “them” outweighs the quote from “also them”.
-
SO MANY DO NOT want to take guns away. We just want them in safer hands and out of the hands of those that keep committing these horrible acts!
-
Talk to their parents about that.
-
Agreed. And many parents back in Texas and everywhere else will have (and have had) that conversation. This issue has to be a team effort and none of this blame game BS.
