I try not to get involved in drama people start with TPUSA, but I will say this... Some of the work TPUSA chapters do on campus is the most effective in the entire country. Whether that work is properly represented from a comms perspective is a separate discussion.

You can dislike certain individuals (I, myself do not like Candace Owens one bit) and still support the impact they're having on campuses. Reality is, no one really cares about the stuff people make a big deal about in DC and on social media.

I know a lot of people will disagree with this, but for a college organization like TPUSA to succeed and bring in millions of dollars, they have to do bold, sometimes crazy things for attention because of the way the intersection of pop culture and politics works.

Other organizations similar to TPUSA absolutely suck at messaging on campus because they're so closed minded and boring, which leads them to only attract like-minded individuals and fail at changing anyone's minds.

TPUSA was the only reason I ever got involved in politics and it was only because it was totally different than what anyone else was doing. Their outreach, funded events, and unique take on things works incredibly well on college students.

the NRA and TPUSA are similar in that regard. Some kooky, inflammatory characters at the head of a mostly solid organization.
