I’ve cared for years, I thought the Republicans cared too, but it seems like you’re right. No one really cares.
-
Fiscal conservatism no longer has a strong voice in our government.
-
It doesn’t help when an argument is made for no department increases that the left calls it massive and heartless cuts.
-
You can’t even cut anything that was never meant to be funded by the feds or may be already funded on a local level without being called out for trying to kill grandma. Personal responsibility is no longer socially expedient.
-
I don’t think I’ll ever forget the ad from the 2012 campaign showing a Paul Ryan look alike pushing grandma off a cliff because Ryan preached fiscal responsibility. Our revenues have never been higher, and yet somehow our deficits grow. Something needs to give.
-
I’m good with cutting taxes, but cut descretionary spending, take an axe to ineffective federal agencies and get rid of ludicrous tax loopholes like those given to hedge fund managers claiming property and funds that belongs to their clients.

Frightening, isn’t it? Actually, the worst part is that both sides seem to want to make it worse.

Who in hell do we owe this money to? Somebody should be sending us a collection notice. It's all smoke and mirrors. Just sayin'.
-
Every treasury bond owner....basically everyone with retirement savings.
-
I never hear anyone complain they're 401k is getting smaller or their savings. I don't get it.
-
If our debt gets out of control, you will know, bacause nearly ever retirement fund is owed money from the US Treasury.

Perhaps if you passed basic Econ you’d realize that the absolute value of debt isn’t really relevant at all. It’s the amount of that debt in relation to GDP. 111% isn’t actually all that much compared to other countries.
