Uh, it’s different because reporters don’t make public policy decisions, don’t have the power to put people in jail, decide whether someone can stay in the US or become a citizen, determine if someone should be able to receive public assistance, and so on.

No, clearly media reporters report on media, but your argument that an offensive tweet from journalist who has no authority over others is the same as a government official expressing racist/sexist/whatever views which he/she is in a position to act on, is a clearly bad faith one

Can you not see how a reporter working for a private company is not the same as a government employee with policy making influence/authority and a taxpayer-funded salary? Reporting on one is a vital watchdog function, the other is often just bad faith “whataboutism” because...

Besides the point, that we ofc should assume higher standards for government work than nearly everywhere else, many of the facts dug up by KFILE are waaaaay worse than those tweets.
