I can tell you from experience women are paid less than men. My six years of experience and an MBA got me less pay than a man straight out of undergrad who had never had a job before. When I complained, I was told I was in the wrong & should never have learned how much he made.

If you're not being paid what you feel you're worth, then find a job that will or advocate for yourself eith your current employer better. That's how life in the corporate world works. You make less because you accepted less.
-
You don't know a thing about my situation, how I handled it or how it turned out. This "it's your fault you're paid less" is absolute bs and completely unhelpful.

It's these other factors that prove there still is a gendered wage gap. You're the egg thinking we are just talking about base salary. Sigh.

What are the other factors? I've experienced the wage gap all my life and I've never bumped into anything that would make me think I was imagining it. I'm deeply puzzled. Or was that sarcasm and I just missed it?
-
I’ve experienced only once 10+yrs ago, spontaneous raise, mgr phrased as “the company wants to pay fair for the role.” We were all young & gossiped the men avg $.15 while all the women $1.00+. Think he is saying factor in education, prior exp., performance, shift differential etc
-
All too often I have experienced situations where the education, prior experience, performance and any shift differential were matched equally across groups of men and women. But, even though all those factors were equal, men earned more than women. (Personal experience)
-
You and your experience matter! Was there any correction to what you were witnessing or did it stay the same? Any HR involvement?
-
If nothing is being corrected, Rally the troops! Go to HR as a group, at the very least an arbitrator would have to step in, either correcting compensation or transparency for the wage differential. If none of the above happens, then go get them under EPA!

-
I don't disagree with you at all. Maybe one day we'll all have the strength to do that, and I know that over the years (in my circles) attempts were made and failed. Too many of us can't risk losing that lower paycheck by fighting for what's right. Sad but true.
-
I know what you mean... It is definitely easier said than done & the possibility of both favorable and unfavorable consequences is a reality. Wishing you and all the other ladies much strength & success!

They only believe in science until you start talking about 2 genders. Then it becomes a sociological discussion.
