That isn’t what he did. He compared Nazi economic policies to the Democrats economic policies. It’s the Democrats who use and abuse the Holocaust for their own purposes.

The problem is that Hitler's rise to power and the consequences thereof are hugely illustrative of how quickly and thoroughly a nation can descend into tyranny. The holocaust started well before kristallnacht.
