Forget the tweet and it's 18 thousand retweets.
@maddow did a full 10 minutes on this crap fake story, on prime time where she gets 2.5 to 3 MILLION viewers.
Then Trump says "Fake news, don't believe what you see on TV" and they hysterically run for their copy of 1984.

That's because Maddow and his followers aren't interested in the truth.

Almost makes you wonder if they do that on purpose....
-
Of course. No doubt. It happens so often and it’s so effective and the damage can not be undone.

Since you don’t specify what was misleading about it or what the correction was, and you don’t link the original tweets, I’ll just take your word for it and retweet you. Is that how this works?

It's a good bet that most or all of the 18 thousand people who studiously follow and retweet her saw the "correction" where she didn't admit really any wrong doing and chose not to retweet it. Her followers are as obstinate and dishonest as she is

It is because she didn’t do anything wrong. The WH is intentionally choosing (choosing which version to use is editing) a version that just so happens to not contradict Trump’s “but Putin prefers Dems” lie. The WH has official stenographers. They do not rely on 1 audio stream

If you're in a place where you have to redefine words in order to support your conclusions then your conclusions are probably wronghttps://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2018/07/25/no-the-white-house-didnt-intentionally-edit-a-question-to-putin-out-of-a-video …

Right, I succumb to debating details when people can’t see the forest for the trees. They have stenographers. The WH had every single word that the reporter said. They (Bill Shine) published a version that supports the “Putin prefers Dems.” lie.

You should try seeing the article I linked

I did. They relied on one particular audio feed. The WH relies on stenographers to get the official transcripts right.

Reading is fundamental dude

Again, I did read it and read it before you pointed me to it. They state their opinion that the WH made the same mistake as they did. However, the WH doesn’t produce their official transcripts off of 1 source. Try learning about the mission of the WH stenographer.
