You see the original tweet would only have been “fake” news if, when the incorrect information was realized, it was not corrected. The difference between responsible journalism and fake news purveyors, say like your president @realDonaldTrump, is they don’t keep repeating a lie

-
So it’s not the journalist job to fact check before posting their news? I’m not even a republican, trump supporter or someone who says fake news, but lying and shoddy research usually means someone should be reprimanded
-
Yes, it is their (our) job but mistakes can be made. What happens then is the difference.

Gee, I wish I could do that in business. Run a marketing campaign for 90% off then after I’ve acquired all the leads from it run a “correction ad” and pitch at standard price. Actually no I don’t wish that because my brand reputation would be ruined & I would be a scumbag.

What the problem is news has become a corporate revenue stream. As the Wall Street/media experiment continues to fail, corporations continue to cut their investments in newsrooms to maximize dividends. News is written in Phoenix for Alaska, Hawaii, Florida and other markets.

I live it. Six corporations own a majority of the media. Learn your media history. The 1996 Telecommunications Act, google it. I work in a newsroom junior.

It "incorrectly implies...". as if it did that all by itself.
-
This is semantical. It (the tweet) incorrectly implies something. Words have implications; they can imply things.
-
Shush, Tron. The adults are having a conversation.
-
I mean, I'm not wrong am I? I say "that implies" or "it implies" all the time.
-
It soft and spineless. He implied it, in his professional story-telling. He tried to convey a back-room-deal falsehood; a lie. Are we done?

They don't turn on the bots for the corrections. Those things cost money you know.
