    In 2019, our team opportunistically mapped the Yap Trench for the first time. More than 10,000 km2 of bathymetric data covering the length of the feature were collected and a deepest depth of nearly 9,000m was identified.

    The Diamantina Fracture Zone in the Indian Ocean is the second deepest place in the Indian Ocean - the deepest place was determined to be just over 7,000m deep. Our team mapped almost 6,000 km2 and nearly 45% of these data are new to the world!

    Carlsberg Ridge is a spreading ridge located in the center of the Indian Ocean. In March this year, our team mapped more than 6,600 km2 along the ridge crest and down a couple fracture zones at high resolution – 98% of these data are new to the world.

    Landers are an essential component of the historic submersible dives taking place during Pressure Drop’s expeditions. They are deployed early to be on the bottom before the sub is launched so they can send back data to help plan the dive. 📸:
