    To end this Twitter thread, I'd like to say that I'm not stopping. Making Windows apps is so much easier with UWP, and I enjoy it. I'll continue to develop for the platform, encourage others to do so, and offer help so other devs (new and old) can reach their full potential.

    I would ask Journalists to stop writing articles like this. Be more informative, do your research, mix less opinions in. I've gone so far as to personally contact devs/users/people and do the research, and hand it to journalists on a silver platter. A lot of good that did.

    Remember the chicken and egg problem? No devs, no users, etc? The more clickbait articles, the more you shift everyone into the mindset of "forget that, it's not important", and the less devs there are. As a dev advocate, this is 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, but I keep it to myself

    Gears 5 isn't UWP! ...so what? Halo MCC wasn't either, and nobody cared. Games don't NEED to be UWP, but some news sites love to scream bloody murder about it, because that generates traffic to their site.

    It's a death by a thousand cuts, and the biggest cuts are coming from the press, not Microsoft. Mobile died! Okay, desktop still has plenty of users, and gets better every day. No more ads! Okay, Most of us can work with that. Monetisation through IAP is huge.

    I've spoken to countless developers, and it breaks my heart to hear the stories. "Work won't use UWP because management heard it was dead" "Friend told me UWP was dead, so I never bothered" "I was just about to move my app to UWP, but I heard x happened, should I still do it?"

    In a contest of opinions, claiming an early victory before your opponent can win is a tactic used to convince the audience that the game is over, and sway the outcome in your favor. This is what some news outlets are doing with UWP. Except instead of victory, it's defeat.

    Dont forget uninstall is the #1 support tool. It's the software "turn it off then on" with msix your uninstall is guaranteed and takes 22 seconds no matter the size of the app. Oh and repair for msix actually works too. Msi not so much. I also own msi 😎

    usual misleading clickbait headline, and of course the comments were deleted

    Cortana/Invoke had some hiccups this weekend, but evidently it's coming back online/fixed for users. Microsoft told and I at Ignite there are no plans to discontinue support for Invoke and it will continue to work 🤷‍♂️

    I think it's fine to encourage people from underrepresented demographics to participate in stuff, or apply to jobs, universities, etc. I think it's wrong to lower the bar or have different standards based on their ethnicity, sex, etc. It's demeaning, biased and anti-meritocratic
