Ah! I love your arxiv insight videos. (Sidenote!) :) - negating gradient methods are notoriously unstable, but many domain adaptation regimes with adversarial training exist (e.g. fair classifiers).

Haha thx man! Hmm didn't know they were so unstable, but I guess that makes sense if one of the loss contributions just starts going out of control. Any good references I can read up on?

I should qualify this was mentioned to me in passing by some students of Andrew zissermans group! So no reference I know of that compares the stability of training with domain adaptation methods. I personally like the paper 'learning to pivot' and i am working on similar avenues.
