Thanks for a balanced view. I have still not got a convincing answer for this qestion - Let's forget her immunity getting to 60% is too expensive but at a infected % of 25% like say in NY, wouldn't that help in slowing the disease down by breaking some transmission chains?

It would, and so does 1%, 5% or 10%. Every % however bears a cost of 50-60 deaths per 1M. The benefit you gain in form of relaxed restrictions is unfortunately not that obvious and systems like South Korea's can be arguably less restrictive and bring less casualties.

There is no herd immunity in sweden, cases have doubled in past week, as well as the points in the piece that drove numbers down also remember their cycle was diff. I seem to remember them hitting peak death as most of Europe was well into the downside.
