We found that 26 confirmed #SARSCoV2 cases in Switzerland reported the @SwissCovid app as the reason for the test from 23 July to 31 August. Using multiple imputation, this corresponds to a total of 37 cases (95% CI: 29-48) throughout the same study period. (2/6)
We argue that digital contact tracing can show similar effectiveness at identifying infected partners of index cases as classic contact tracing, provided that both the index case and the exposed contacts use the app. (3/6)
Therefore, digital contact tracing represents a helpful complementary tool for controlling the spread of #SARSCoV2. (4/6)
Because app coverage affects both the number of index cases and their contacts, the total number of #SARSCoV2 infections that could be identified through digital contact tracing scales with the square of the coverage and could substantially increase with higher uptake. (5/6)
