Good point. I thought about this but didn’t have time to implement the model in a Bayesian framework like Stan. The uncertainty around the estimates from Linton et al. is also quite small, actually.

Late update: I tried this out using JAGS (https://github.com/jbracher/ncov-cfr/blob/master/figures/cfr_comparison_ML_vs_JAGS.png …), but it doesn't make any difference other than increasing computation time and adding Monte Carlo noise.
