Yeah, the wideness of the serial interval length or generation time used absolutely explains at least some of the difference in final estimates. (After seeing Christian’s paper, I actually broadened ours as an exercise and obtained results even more similar to his than before.)

Do longer intervals make the disease more susceptible to public health interventions? Or does that depend on the comparative durations to onset of contagiousness vs. detectable symptoms? I noticed CoVs seem to have incubation periods 2x as long as flu, even with similar R0.
