In high school in Hungary, I read "The Dragon's of Eden" and it changed my life forever. I still remember it giving me headaches just thinking about how little particles we are in this Universe.

I used to watch Cosmos as a kid, and couldn't grasp how this scientist was just so friendly, camera loving and eloquent at the same time... Last year I produced and wrote some music in his honor, inspired by the Pale Blue Dot footage and his voice. Happy Birthday Dr. Sagan!!

So many moments & books to choose from! One of my favorite was his effort to turn Voyager 1 around to take the
#PaleBlueDot photo
. Why? Because it underscores the importance of not just the beautiful science but the precious fragility of humanity & our home.Kiitos. Käytämme tätä aikajanasi parantamiseen. KumoaKumoa

Sagan's way of communicating science reawakened my child like sense of wonder as an adult. "The Baloney Detection Kit" gave me the tools I needed to question everything from religion, to politics, to science, to the guy trying to sell me a used car. 1/2

His love and passion for and all life , no matter how small, fragile, or short spread to me at time when I needed it most. Shortly after the death of my mother. He brought me back from a dark place in my life. He will forever be my guiding pulsar in this vast & awesome Universe

I could write an entire book on how Carl Sagan changed my life. The person I am today is not the same person I was before learning from Dr. Sagan. I always credited Bill Nye as the one who sparked my interest in climate change (and of course, Bill Nye was a student of Dr. Sagan).

You should write it - it may start out about you and turn into something widely meaningful. Hey
@SashaSagan, look at all the wonderful stories in this thread about how your dad inspire us. - Näytä vastaukset

But it was also Dr. Sagan’s message from the book ‘Pale Blue Dot’ to “preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known” as well as his talks on climate change that further inspired me to pursue my degree and a career in climate change science.

I guess you can say I’m kind of a big fan
The only things missing from this photo are my collection of Dr. Sagan’s books and my Planetary Society membership card
