    Carl Sagan became an associate professor in 1968 when he was just 34 years old. He was hired by Prof. Tommy Gold. Carl Sagan told the story in his Lost lecture, which you can watch on the YouTube Channel:

    Carl Sagan's resting place is in the Lake View cemetery near his old house and University: It is frequently visited by all who loved him & got inspired by him. People leave letters, small presents, flowers on the grave.

    Happy Birthday to an amazing scientist and communicator - would have been 87 years old today. I wish I could talk to him about the amazing new planets we are discovering. Sitting in his old office we overlap in space but unfortunately not in time...
