You can protect your skin from UV damage to reduce the risk of melanoma skin cancer and still enjoy the sun. This summer think about: 1) Spending time in the shade 2) Covering up with clothes 3) Using a sunscreen with SPF15+ & 4 or 5 stars Sun safety is important at all ages!
How to enjoy the sun safely: 

1) Find shade by taking breaks under trees or umbrellas.

2) Cover up with long sleeved tops and a hat.

3) Use sunscreen on any skin that isn't covered.

Most melanoma skin cancer cases are from too much UV radiation from the sun. Here’s a quick UV refresher: ⬆️Protect your skin if the UV index is 3+ 🌥️UV rays can burn you even if it’s cloudy or feels cool ❄️UV rays are reflected back from snow, sand & water 👇Try the shadow rule
The sun's UV rays are strongest when your shadow is shorter than you. This is usually during the middle of the day, from 11am to 3pm.
