SOME PERSONAL NEWS
Starting today, I'm re-launching my weekly newsletter at @The_Corres to focus on boldly telling "good" news on the climate emergency.

Why the change? This move was prompted by a few things, but most of all by this reader poll yesterday. I always wanna make sure my work is what is needed in the world right now, and helping to change the narrative on the climate emergency has been my goal for a long time.

The Covid-19 pandemic has upended our sense of what’s possible. We are acting with clear eyes amid a near-constant state of duress. That is simultaneously terrifying and promising – and it’s a parallel to the decades-long project of tackling the climate emergency.

There are some truly excellent voices in climate journalism right now that are carving out space for righteous anger & revolutionary imagination to sit in conversation with each other.
@emorwee's newsletter HEATED,@MaryHeglar's essays, and@amywestervelt's DRILLED come to mind.1 reply 2 retweets 12 likesShow this thread -
In my newsletter, I want to focus mostly on telling "good" climate news, blending solid reporting with radical hope. Why is "good" in quotes? Because this isn't going to be fluffy bullshit. Good is always subjective. We always need to be asking "good for whom?"

Truth-telling needs to always be clear-eyed about the big picture. And right now, in 2020, we are in a battle for our future.
@TaylorLorenz has a great piece on why reported, believable, revolutionary good news is more important right now than ever.https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/14/style/good-news-coronavirus.html …1 reply 1 retweet 12 likesShow this thread -
My aim with this newsletter is to show examples of what’s possible when we confront the climate emergency with the intent of treating each other better.https://thecorrespondent.com/34/climate-change-is-about-how-we-treat-each-other/4501145726-d1cba5b1 …

My weekly newsletter will be reported mini-articles of about 300-500 words, with stories from all around the world. And I’ll be writing them in a style like a quick note to a friend. Because you are all friends, and we are doing this work together.

To do this, I need your help. I need examples of transformational change. I need tips of people I should talk with, of artists who are imagining new worlds, of scientific studies helping to upend our sense of what’s possible. And I need you to sign up.https://thecorrespondent.com/mail/ericholthaus …
