The PC Fan #CorsiRosenthalBox
I'm now a convert. PC fans from now on. I built two PC fan CR boxes and I'm addicted. Using PC fans might be the most important innovation to portable air cleaners since the invention of the original CR box. These are unbelievably quiet.

There is a loud, formerly respected adult intensivist on here spouting the view that no kids should get vaccinated. As a #PedsICU physician with 25 years experience, and a parent, I can clearly say he’s full of shit, and that approach would lead to far more pediatric deaths.

More than 160,000 US children have been hospitalized for COVID and at least 1556 have died. Kids 6 mos or older are eligible for vaccination and those 5 yrs or older are eligible for the updated bivalent booster. Tens of 1000s of new hospitalizations could be averted. #KidsFirst

Big news: I was lucky to get tested for micro blood clots, & I have a lot of them! #LongCovid
Healthy control blood on the left. Mine on the right. The green is all microclots!
These clots are likely blocking oxygen from getting around my body & could explain many symptoms. 1/

We also get into why we are seeing a record number of pediatric hospitalizations, so stick with us.

Yesterday I learned that Curative is shutting down and auctioning off their assets. Curative was the largest COVID PCR lab for public testing.
It's insane as we enter the winter we made policy decisions that would eliminate this much PCR capacity from the country.

Keep in mind that the sampling frame is highly biased (bloods from already sick kids, NOT a random population-based sample) and therefore these are likely to be overestimates.
Kids still need #COVID19 vaccinations/boosters!

This highlights the importance of global data.
Previously limited data from areas w a higher burden of undernutrition have obscured this risk factor.

Seeing the country ready to move on from #COVID is leading me to reflect on my own experience.
As a pediatrician, I know I haven’t seen nearly the devastation that my colleagues in adult medicine have.
As a pediatric palliative care doctor, I’ve seen enough.
