Then why not just push for the election of better, Constitutionally-minded Congresspeople? Educate citizens on the proper role and scope of government at ALL levels? IF it's just as safe and involves less drama, why do it the hard way?

There's nothing wrong with those things, but history has proven they won't repair the damage done to our constitutional structures.
