To do the "right thing" would be to repeal the 16th amendment and cut off the flow of taxed personal property. The gov't will never limit themselves and unless you take away their ability to subsidize, no small action (budget amendment) will stop them.

It's a fantasy, like nullification talked about a few years ago, last time used in 1833. I think it's a wonderful idea. Some kind of balanced budget amendment, a re-working of the idea of taxes. But it will never happen. Too many problems like troops worldwide, treaties, etc.

I'd support such a Convention, it would be the dream of a libertarian to attempt to force the government to make itself smaller.
