To do the "right thing" would be to repeal the 16th amendment and cut off the flow of taxed personal property. The gov't will never limit themselves and unless you take away their ability to subsidize, no small action (budget amendment) will stop them.

Someone needs to put together a Video Montage of Republicans claining to be concerned abou the National Debt to show just how hypocritical they are.... they keep skating by on exploding the National Debt when they are in the majority and blaming Dems when they take it back

It's a fantasy, like nullification talked about a few years ago, last time used in 1833. I think it's a wonderful idea. Some kind of balanced budget amendment, a re-working of the idea of taxes. But it will never happen. Too many problems like troops worldwide, treaties, etc.
