Being a member of Congress was never supposed to be a career therefore they shouldn’t be receiving any retirement benefits. Also their salaries should be the same as the median income in their districts and it states.

The federal lawmakers should have a performance based retired system. Their retirement should reflect what the average (use a 10-year weighted average) income is of the American citizens. That will discourage illegal immigration and promote better education!

$30,000 for avg. retiree is very generous! My husband & I together make much less. No room for error or disaster, but we are comfortable thanks to the fact that God has always provided.
