The chief illegally recorded those tapes and we don't know what is on the tapes because listening to them would be illegal. Pete demoted the chief because he heard from the FBI that the chief was under investigation.

The mayor should have found out. Police deny it is racism then why not let the tape be released. The person that herd the tape said it was racism and those cops are on the force perhaps mistreating Black people. The mayor should have found out period.

Only a judge can release those tapes to the public as they are part of a criminal investigation.

That is why the Council woman is fighting to get them released . The Mayor could have went to court to not even necessarily release them but to hear them to find out if there were corruption in the police dept He did not care. Yet he wants to be President no.

What Council woman are you talking about? These tapes are part of a criminal investigation, the mayor has no saying if they should be heard or released to the public or not. Only the judge in charge has. Sounds like you are biased in some way for whatever reason?

What makes U think no one can get a court order from a Judge 2 hear the tapes? Facts R not biased. Mine R not. Judge Steven Holsteler said the case to hear tapes has merit. He ruled some tapes did not violate state law. Source CNN. look it up. Gina Williams Preston Council woman

Why do U think the Mayor could not ask the courts 2 hear the tapes? His job is to find out if there is corruption in his police dept. I dont know why U think the Mayor had no right to ask the courts for info in a criminal investigation regarding his town.

I used to think Trump could never be re-elected. Now, I am starting to see how the Dem’s are going to take the self sabotage/nothing or noone is good enough/purity police/circular firing squad approach, and lose. This reflects both the dem actions and the way the media reports.

Don’t misinterpret btw. I think Trump and his cult like devotees are the worst thing that have happened to the country in decades, but the Dem’s are currently doing a piss poor job articulating a coherent message despite have all the facts on their side and a captive audience.

Does Mayor Pete have any left-handed-midget-albinos on his team. if not that is shameful. we must get people at least one of them. Identity politics is more important than skills for us Dems.

Ah yes, Mayor Pete's "compelling story": Harvard, Oxford, McKinsey. Privilege shuttling him from one elite institution to the other. There is a ruling class in the country, and Buttigieg is part of it. I would merely describe it as "typical" rather than "compelling".

I can tell CNN right now that the majority of poc will not support Buttigieg. Hiring a black female to head his social media is just another smoke screen. He showed who he really is by the policies he’s enforcing. And this notion that since he’s gay he can relate to poc is BS!
