I supported, canvassed for, and voted for you. I want criminal justice reform as much as the next person. But right now all I see from you are celebrations of prosecuting cops and excuses. At best you are losing the messaging battle 1/

At worst you are making people feel less safe, making this city more divided, and for all I know actually making the city less safe. Help me l, as a supporter of these policies, understand what is actually being done to improve life in this city for everyone. 2/x

Hi
@Foxandthecloud , As a longtime supporter, volunteer and also canvasser for@chesaboudin I hoped I might point you to guidance that the@SFDAOffice put out to explain rapid decarceration under medical guidance?https://twitter.com/SFDAOffice/status/1333825561144147970?s=20 …Paul added,
SF DISTRICT ATTORNEY @SFDAOfficeCheck out this new report from@SFDAOffice on our use of data to drive decision making around rapid decarceration. With COVID cases spiking, this is a critical resource to help other jurisdictions save lives inside jails and in the broader community. https://sfdistrictattorney.org/policy/justice-driven-data/an-epidemic-inside-a-pandemic/ … pic.twitter.com/v7yed0fn071 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

@Foxandthecloud ,@chesaboudin was instructed by our@SF_DPH that it was safe to incarcerate no more than 800 people, because of existential epidemiological threats. Attached is a graph of prison population against this public health guidance.pic.twitter.com/EM1ftOCdBK

Thanks for that Paul, I read through it. Helpful to see the data showing lower crime rates than previous years, though it does suggest that is due to SIP. One goal is a strategic reduction is incarceration, the other reduced crime. 1/

I hope to see fewer stories of crimes committed by those pre trial/sentencing, or on parole, or by repeat offenders. This is where the work is for true systemic change. I don’t know the data, but the stories are bad. Whether it’s messaging or substance, it needs to change. 2/x

You don’t seem to have even a basic understanding on how crime works. Dangerously naive. Facts....
An estimated 68% of released prisoners were arrested within 3 years, 79% within 6 years, and 83% within 9 years.https://www.bjs.gov/index.cfm?ty=pbdetail&iid=6266 …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

That's a good thing? That's a testament to our mass incarceration system failing to do any good despite being responsible for improving those it holds. Mass incarceration is dangerous and unhealthy for the public at large.

@ThomasSowell and less, scratch that, NONE of Ibram X. Kendi. TS has facts, data, and almost a century of lives experience to support his policy recommendations. IXK is toxic.https://youtu.be/SzHd5bmEdU41 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
