Today, I voted to repeal King County’s helmet law that is disproportionately enforced against our BIPOC community members and people experiencing homelessness. While this won't end biased policing, we are ending a practice we know is doing harm in our community.

The negative net public health impacts of mandatory helmet laws have been well documented for years. Thanks for finally getting this counterproductive law repealed.

Thanks for your leadership on this important issue, and underscoring what is actually the biggest safety barrier for people who bike... Fast moving vehicles. Infrastructure is key.
