The substantial (up to 87%) reduction in cervical cancer as a result of the HPV vaccination programme in schools is very good news. Cervical cancer is one of the most common cancers in young women in the UK and globally; it will be much rarer in future.

PHE data show up to 50% reduction in transmission of COVID from first vaccine. 3 implications: 1) Getting a vaccine helps protect others 2) This is likely to be improved by getting your second dose 3) If people you meet are vaccinated it reduces your risk- but not completely.
